Meet Milton's Mistress Of Spice!
According to recent Canadian statistics, 10 years ago the proportion of organic food sold in mainstream stores was less than 5% of total organic sales. Today with the impact of large retail outlets it is between 45-50%.

Devya Indian Gourmet has been quick to pick up on this trend, and recently unveiled its range of certified organic products. This is the first Indian food product in Canada to go through the certification process.

According to Anita Saini, founder and creator of Devya Indian Gourmet "71 percent of Canadians have tried organic foods and 40 percent continue to purchase organic foods on a regular basis. Statistics show that food trends in Canada are driven by taste, but consumers are also concerned with health and nutrition - this was the inspiration for my new range of certified organic products"

Anita, is a budding entrepreneur, she began her journey into the food sector, when she created her line of wholesome and tasty Indian products. The products were based on her mother Devya's traditional East Indian recipes she enjoyed while growing up. "I wanted to provide an easy, tasty and healthy option for people looking to recreate authentic East Indian cuisine at home", said Saini.

And, her new product range does just that, offering, simmer sauces for butter chicken, channa masala, vegetable curry. Her tandoori marinade made from natural and organic ingredients is a guaranteed winner in taste tastes everywhere.

Current figures reveal that the ethnic food market in North America is forecast to grow well above the growth of the overall food market as consumers increasingly look for a more authentic flavor experience.

"Ontario's 2.78 million ethnic consumers coupled with the urban mainstream that actively pursues healthier and authentic food experiences driving the ethnic food market in Canada," said Saini.
